Which plant should you choose for a Ravel jar?

The jar is a centerpiece of the garden. It catches the eye, evokes Mediterranean history, and instantly transforms a space into a living decor. At Ravel, each jar is handcrafted with generous curves, noble clay, and a sculptural presence.

Jars with their narrow necks were ancient food containers. For hundreds of years, they were used to store seeds or oils.

Today, they are planted or simply used as decor. If you wish to plant in them, choose species suited to a container with a more limited opening.

It is advisable to plant climbing or trailing plants.

These plants complement the shape of the jar and create a beautiful cascading or soft voluminous effect.

For a non-perforated jar, transform it into a planter cover (by inserting an inner container), or use it as a sculptural object in a mineral or vegetated arrangement.

Ideal setting: a jar placed on a bed of light gravel, surrounded by Mediterranean plants, or nestled in a dry flowerbed. It also works very well alone, as a sculpture in the landscape.

Ravel's Tip: pair two jars of different sizes to create a dialogue. The jar is a silhouette, a breath. Give it space to exist.
